Today is the feast of St. Dominic of Silos, who was not a Dominican, but a Benedictine.
St. Dominic of Silos was a Benedictine abbot renowned for his holiness, so much that one of the local women named her son “Dominic”, and that son grew up to found the Dominicans.
The abbey of St. Dominic of Silos still exists, and created the “Chant” CD that was a huge bestseller (including to secular customers) in 1994.
