Describe how the the Filiquo really works for if the father gives the holy spirit, how does the son also gives the holy spirit?

Ha! That drawing is awesome! And that kid’s handwriting looks a lot like mine was, when I was a kid!

That kids handwriting is my handwriting, a 29 year old man.

😦 lol.

I grew up typing, not writing.

Although I purposely tried to make the writing sloppy in a humorous way to go with my drawing “skill.”

The technical term is “spiration.”

The Holy Spirit has one spiration, proceeding from the Father. As my illustration shows, the Spirit proceeds from the Father in one spiration, but flows through the Son.

This is the orthodox Catholic meaning of Filioque. The Eastern Orthodox who try to interpret Filioque to be some heretical dual spiration are not aligned to the mind of the Church.

At the Second Ecumenical Council of Lyon the Eastern Orthodox bishops accepted the Filioque as orthodox, and even sang the Creed with the Filioque three times over to prove their sincerity in accepting the orthodoxy of Filioque.

For various political and cultural reasons though, the Council failed in its goal of reuniting the East and West.

First of all you weren’t the one who I was replying to, I was talking to @Mintaka.

Secondly I wasn’t offended. I’m a United States Military Veteran - it’s gonna take a lot more than (rightly) commenting that my handwriting looks like a 10 year olds to offend me.

Very good @Pathway2.

Keep studying and praying, keep seeking truth.

Filioque is not Correct, it goes against the words of Christ and Creed established by the Fathers of the Ecumenical Councils.
Creed describes eternal Son and Holy Spirit, while Filioque Creed describes eternal Son and temporal Holy Spirit.

No, all is eternal.
holy Spirit is not created, but proceeds from the Father and through the Son as the heart of the Trinity.

I think the problem that the Eastern Orthodox have with the Filioque (and some Eastern Catholics) is that the Latin version of the Filioque has a different connotation that the Greek does not. The Greek is right but since Latin does not have a better word than Filioque, we are stuck with it. It’s fine as long as folks know what is being said. But the Eastern folks want more precision. I understand both sides.

I’m the same age, I never could draw very well, don’t worry about it. I think it’s awesome.

Jesus Christ said in Gospel according to John that the Holy Spirit proceeds only from the Father. I don’t know what are you trying to tell us here. Also introduction of Filioque in to Rome’s Mass was Schismatic act by Rome. In other words, Rome is to be blamed for the East-West Schism.

You’re wrong.

And I am not a fundamentalist - you are the fundamentalist.
