Doesn’t the Bible say that God flooded the earth because he was sorry for the way he created man. I know God can’t make a mistake, so can someone explain this to me?

Isn’t love an emotion? God loves us so he can feel emotions. If we believe that Jesus is God didn’t He suffer on the cross?JeanneHGod is immutable; He does not change, nor suffer, nor feel emotions. Scripture says that God regretted (making man) by way of a figure of speech, indicating the unfaithfulness of mankind to the purpose of his Creator.
Love is not an emotion, it is an act of will and intellect, an act of the soul, not of the body. God is Love, but certainly He is not emotion, therefore love is not emotion.Isn’t love an emotion? Hi Ron,Love is not an emotion, it is an act of will and intellect, an act of the soul, not of the body. God is Love, but certainly He is not emotion, therefore love is not emotion.
Also, the Church teachings that there are three theological virtues: love, faith, hope; these are not emotions but virtues infused at Baptism.
Jesus suffered in his human nature, but not in His Divine Nature. From the Council of Ephesis:
“In a similar way we say that he suffered and rose again, not that the Word of God suffered blows or piercing with nails or any other wounds in his own nature (for the divine, being without a body, is incapable of suffering), but because the body which became his own suffered these things, he is said to have suffered them for us. For he was without suffering, while his body suffered.”
It is contrary to the teaching of the Council of Ephesis to claim that the Divine Nature can suffer at all. Therefore, the article that you cite is in error. The teachings of Ecumenical Councils are required beliefs.unitypublishing.com/Newsletter/GodSuffers2.htm
