Well, she was pretty small then, right? If it was Kylo Ren, maybe he hadn’t gone completely bad yet but was under pressure from Snoke, so he wanted to protect his sister (or cousin) and come back for her later? Maybe Han Solo had an affair and she’s his daughter, and whoever hid her did so without his knowing?
Luke could’ve stumbed upon some old Jedi documents. Or simply decided he needed to remain celibate so he could concentrate on the task at hand. Still, the final scene does hint at some sort of connection . . .
If she isn’t Leia’s daughter maybe that would account for part of it, though the Force is supposed to apply whether people are related by blood or not. I’m stumped.
The Jedi are not Catholic priests…I think they were allowed to love at one time.
And I can’t see Luke doing that…just not allowing himself to love. What doomed Anakin was not his marriage, but his obsession with Padmé, even turning to the dark side to save her from death. Most prequel Jedi were taken as infants.
There was one Jedi allowed to have some mate due to his species. Ki-Adi-mundi.
I still think there is a hint in the flashback when Rey touched the lightsaber.
Plus Kylo asked what girl…if that was his SISTER, would he have done that mind probe? Then again, Vader didn’t know Leia was his daughter until Lucas decided they were siblings.
I have a theory, but I need to work the details…it could also be that Rey was adopted as an orphaned baby by Luke
