But really, what separates a Catholic perspective on the church and a Protestant one is the idea that Apostolic Succession is necessary for a legitimate leadership and sacramental celebration. If apostolic succession is NOT true, then it would seem any form of church governance is legitimate – as long as there are “elders” of sorts who can preside over the Eucharist, and so on.
SO what reasons are there to think Apostolic Succession is true?
Here my friend is the very shot course on proving that not only in the RCC the ONE True Church & Faith of GOD; but
Jesus Himself Ordered /Commanded Papal succession;
Mt 10: 1-8 [1] And having called his twelve disciples together, he gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of diseases, and all manner of infirmities. [
2] And the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, 5]
These twelve Jesus sent: commanding them, saying: Go ye not into the way of the Gentiles, and into the city of the Samaritans enter ye not.
[6] But go ye rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. [7] And going, preach, saying: The kingdom of heaven is at hand. [8] Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out devils: freely have you received, freely give
[17] Sanctify THEM in truth. Thy word is truth. [18] As thou hast SENT ME into the world, I ALSO HAVE SENT THEM into the world. [19] And FOR THEM do I sanctify myself, that they also may be SANCTIFIED IN [MY] TRUTH. [20]
And not for them only do I pray, but for them also who through their word shall believe in me
Hence the RCC is the only Church; only Faith that can claim & prove that Jesus HIMSELF is the personal warranty of teaching His Truths on Faith and Morals infallibly when teaching in conformity with the Catholic Magisterium
Mt 28:19-20 [compare this to Mt 10:1-8 above]
[19] Going therefore,
TEACH YOU ALL NATIONS; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. [20] Teaching them TO OBSERVE ALL THINGS whatsoever I have commanded YOU and behold I am with YOU all days, even to the consummation of the world.
Eph 2: 19-20 “[19] Now therefore you are no more strangers and foreigners; but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and the domestics of God,
[20] Built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone
**Eph 4: 1-7 ** “[1] I therefore, a prisoner in the Lord, beseech you that you walk worthy of the vocation in which you are called, [2] With all humility and mildness, with patience, supporting one another in charity. [3] Careful to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. [4] ONE BODY=CHIURCH and ONE Spirit; as you are called in ONE hope of your calling. [5] One Lord, ONE FAITH [SET ON FAITH BELIEFS], one baptism.
[6] ONE God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in us all. [7] But to every one of us is given grace, according to the measure of the giving of Christ.
May God guide your path,
Patrick
