Ok I keep hearing my non-Catholic friends talk about this book and the 4 blood moons, and the first one is today. They are saying that because it aligns with Jewish traditions each time (which is no surprise because most of them are set off the lunar cycle), and they are also quoting acts.

What would be a good way of explaining this, really to anyone who uses things like this to predict the end? Matthew 24 sums it up well, only the Father knows when that will be.

I know it doesn’t mean anything, however I feel bad for the ones I know that are taking this very seriously.

Some people jump on all these things. Remember the people digging holes and moving to different countries because of the Mayan calendar?

I like reading about the end times but there is still stuff that needs to happen.

Simply tell them to come back after the 4 moons have passed and nothing has happened because you’ll be happy to discuss it then. 😉

While this is a rare event, it has happened a number of times in history and will occur a number of time just within this century. Nothing unique. Another big buildup to nothing! People who buy into this end times theology need to see signs of the end of the world to sustain their faith. But again, who knows? Jesus could come back before we even see the first blood moon. But way too much is made of this.

I wanted to make a short that said, “I survived the end of the world.” Then, on the back list each year that it was predicted in my life time. I gave up when I realized that I wouldn’t have enough space.

When it really happens, no one will be able to escape it no matter where they hide.!! God Bless, Memaw

NO ONE cay say with authority “it doesn’t mean anything”…we simply don’t know. And the best “defense” is a good “offense”: keep the line of communication between you and God open every single day if you can and this is very difficult. It matters not when the “hour” is upon you, it will be upon all of us at some moment in time. What does matter, I think (humbly), is our relationship with God, whether or not we “hear” Him (and He does “speak” to us) and act upon that hearing, and how we suffer the horrors that life inflicts upon us. This is just my humble opinion. Worry for nothing: remember Jesus said, “Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”

If they already have their minds made up, then no scientific or biblical evidence will convince them otherwise. I think the last blood moon is over in late September next year; I bet that book will be in the dollar bin by October 1st!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I know what you mean!🤷

Was it supposed to be visible in India? The moon did not look blood but I thought the star near it was glowing light orange, thought I was seeing Venus at night or something, think the glow of the moon was also light orange, though the silver looked silver, nowhere near blood.

Put “to be continued . . .” at the bottom of the list. 😃

Four total lunar eclipses in a row. It’s rather interesting if you’re into astronomy, but I just wonder why didn’t the world end when we had going onexact same thing back in 2003-4. Or for that matter, back in 1967-8. 😃 🤷

The world ended in 1968. Haven’t you heard? Where have you been?

The year 2001: A Space Odyssey and Planet of the Apes came out coinciding with Martin Luther King, Jr.'s death, The Beatles releasing the White Album, and Led Zeppelin’s debut is the year the world ended. 😛

When I was in the Assemblies of God we were all braced for 1988 to be the end of the world, or more properly, according to their beliefs, the Rapture. It wasn’t because of the moon, though. It was because they believed that Jesus would come within one generation, that’s 40 years, of Israel becoming a state, in 1948. If there’d been a blood moon predicted for 1988 I’m sure it would have been cited as another sign of the end times. Of course 1988 came and went and nothing happened, so the books that made that claim had to be revised or abandoned. But, such failures haven’t stopped those folks from continuing to make predictions that Jesus himself said couldn’t be done. So why do they do it? They need to keep their people stirred up and bothered about judgment day to motivate them to proselytize because, in the end, that’s what this is all about for them.

I agree Della. I was also in the AG back in the 80’s and remember all the hype leading to the Rapture of 1988.

I think the reason people are making a big deal about the blood moon is that it happened on the first day of Passover and will be on Sukkot later this year and will repeat again next year on the same Jewish feast days of Passover and Sukkot. Now that doesn’t necessarily mean anything as far as Christians go but it is rather fascinating on the timing though.
