Hello there!

I am just wondering if exorcisms are actually real?
I am also confused about what is a real exorcism. Because I have seen so many kinds of exorcisms. There are the Christian exorcisms mainly Catholic and other Christian denominations and non-Christian like Buddhists and the like.

I am confused about what the true exorcism is. Because on Catholic exorcisms we go by the book and we have some sorts of rituals to truly get demons exorcised. On the other hand, we have these Christian exorcisms on which they only use and shout the name of Jesus to exorcise the demons.

We also have these non-Christian religions who also have their own way and rites to purify a person from evil and demonic attacks.

So really what is the true, legit and correct way to cast out demons and diabolic influences?

God Bless you!

Exorcism is a specific rite of the Church.

There is a minor exorcism during the RCIA Scrutinies, so, yes we can see that one every year. There are minor excorcisms done as some Sacramental blessings. You may have witnessed these.

A valid Catholic Bishop has the authority to do an exorcism. A Bishop may grant that authority to a priest who is under his authority. Aside from that you are seeing a sideshow at best and people playing with fire at worst.

Exorcisms are real but rare. The proper way to do an exorcism for most people is not to. Each diocese has at least one exorcist, whose identity is usually kept secret. If you have serious reasons to believe that you are affected by a demonic infestation, oppression, or possession, you should contact your diocese. They will need proof before they resort to formal exorcism. The most you should do alone is pray.

If your parish subscribes to Formed, there is a video with some discussions from exorcists about what they do and what they have seen. They talk about the reality of the devil.

Unless something has changed in recent times, at least for Catholics, I was always taught that exorcisms are not to be recorded since they are deeply personal battles. They are not for outside entertainment or curiosity seekers. I know others have no problem filming such things, but we should be careful of seeking out the experiences of others when they are at their most vulnerable just because we want to know. Instead spend that curiosity on praying down all those involved in such trying endeavors.

Not a good idea. There are many ways to fill your time, choose those things.
