And what’s sad is…over 800 cases combined between those protestant groups doesn’t even come close to the amount of cases in the Roman Catholic Church…
Hmm.interesting information. Curious as to who owns and runs the site, however, it is most disturbing and enlightening. Why hasnt the press run with this as well?

Statistically, a child is a lot more likely to be molested by his or her own father than by a clergyman of any denomination - next most likely to be molested by a teacher at school, or by a sports or dance coach, and more likely to be molested by a married Protestant minister than by a Catholic priest.

IT DOESN’T MATTER… The fact of the matter is that it happens. Whether by a priest, minister or anyone else it STILL happens. Why do we squabble about who does it more? If it happens ONCE it is too many times. I wouldn’t attend a church that had a priest or pastor who was previously shown to have committed such a crime. I would walk right back out the door. To just re-assign them is to tell the victim that the priest’s / pastor’s and church’s reputation is more important than the robbery of their innocence. It is horrible and sickening…

Yes, but we don’t cancel the institutions of marriage or fatherhood, just because many fathers molest their children, and we don’t shut down schools or sports organizations, or Protestant churches.

So why all the clamour to shut down and destroy the Catholic Church over this?

And not done in the Catholic Church since the early 1990s, when this thing first came to light.

Protestant churches, schools, and sports teams, however, are still quietly hiding their sexual predators (and they don’t have the excuse of not knowing that this disease can’t be cured) instead of putting them in jail, as we have been doing for more than a decade, now, ever since we found out that they can’t be cured.

I dont believe that the Catholic priests committed such acts because the cant marry…does anyone have a working theory as to the high numbers of all combined denominations? It is kind of troubling…these are times when we need to remember that, yes, we may have denominational differences…but the bottom line is…we are ALL baptized into the Body of Christ, and we are ALL one because of it. As A Christian whole, we need to pray for the temiination of these things and the healing of the victims as well as the perpertrators.

They are actually not all that high. They get a lot of attention because the media loves to discredit religion, but the numbers are actually pretty low compared to other sectors of society.

That’s a good reminder. We all need to pray for our spiritual leaders, because our spiritual leaders are the Devil’s primary targets for attack - for every priest who loses his faith, a thousand parishioners lose theirs, too, and for every Protestant preacher who loses his faith, hundreds of his followers also go down with him. 😦

Then you must stay out of every church because every church has it’s scandals. Only the Catholic church has survived for 2,000 years.

Hard to tell who owns it…but yes, the information is very interesting in that it clearly points out what it does…
however, it is most disturbing and enlightening. Why hasnt the press run with this as well?
Yes…it is enlightening, and points clearly to the facts that the issue is rather widespread…through all religions and even secular groups.

Why hasn’t the press run it? You know that answer, just as well as I do… If you don’t know the answer…tell me, and I’ll fill you in on it…

One thing that I think many are not considering, and do not make a mistake in thinking that I am attempting to minimize anything, but the thought occurs to me…and causes me to wonder how many of the claims and suits are or were “shams”?

Think about it… if someone got their child to point a finger at you, and say…that you molested them, and thus you are a pedophile… How do you prove otherwise? Could you even hope to prove your innocence?

I am well aware that there were crimes committed…but at the same time…I can’t help but wonder how many claims were made by “opportunists”…

SIA… You really need to ask for some serious guidance from God concerning your thought processes. I truly pity you that you need to regurgitate this tripe over and over again… Have you bothered to look at reformation.com and reviewed the information there that shows “your church’s” hands are not clean either?

How about equal condemnation for your own?

I wonder the same thing, since it seems like an easy way to become a millionaire - all you have to do is point your finger - there doesn’t seem to be any process for establishing that the events could have ever happened.

Actually 1stChristian posted the reformation link, not SIA.

Well I’m sure there are many more cases that have went to the grave with people, and many more brushed under the mat, and many more to raise their ugly heads.

The Catholic Church is quite large, someone said it’s 1% to 3%, you do the maths, 1% to 3% for a large organization will naturally prove to be more, but if those percentages were taken from other non-catholics, they’d probably surpass the Catholic Church.

Not that anyone should be proud of who abused more, one sin is one too many.

It’s from Fish-eaters.com, and yes why hasn’t the press run with this ?
