Last night Muslims attained the anniversary of one of the greatest miracle of Muhammed, Mi’raj. Mi’raj mean ascension. That miracle consist of two stages. The first part is Isra(Night Journey) and the second part is Mi’raj(ascension). In Isra Muhammed was taken from Mecca to Jerusalem. And in Mi’raj Muhammed was ascended to Heavens. Through that ascension Muhammed saw Paradise, Hell and further and beyond of these Kursiyy, Arsh-ı A’zam(The Highest Throne) and Sidrat-ul Muntaha(The last point of entity). Jesus is part of the Trinity - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Father created the Heavens and the Earth. Jesus came down for our salvation and ascended to be with the Father and then the Holy Spirit descended later. Jesus and God, the Father, and the Holy Spirit are One. So Jesus knows about every part of the Heavens.

Why would Mohammed fly from Mecca to Jerusalem on his night journey? What was significant about Jerusalem? Why didn’t he ascend from Mecca?

Jesus was in Israel because he was born of Virgin Mary in Bethlehem, Israel. He was Jewish. What was Mohammed’s connection to Jerusalem again?
 
It is a basic tenet of the Catholic faith, as well as most Protestant denominations, that Jesus Christ ascended into heaven. We confirm this belief every Sunday at Mass when we recite our Creed (our statement of what we believe). It is mentioned in the Gospels and was witnessed by some of the Apostles. 🙂

Jesus was not a prophet. He is God.

Good luck on a Catholic Forum in trying to persuade people that Muhammad is a greater prophet than Jesus!

According to Judaism, Moses is regarded as the greatest of all prophets because of at least four reasons, which are discussed by Maimonides:
  1. Moses was not asleep when he communicated with G-d, but, on the contrary, fully conscious.
  2. Moses received a “literal vision” from G-d, not a vision in the form of parables.
  3. Moses spoke with G-d in a casual manner without fear and trepidation.
  4. Moses spoke with G-d on a continual basis, not at certain specified times.

I suspect most Catholics would agree with you. Jesus was not a prophet.He Is God

Of ultimate importance for me to be able to prove the holiness of a figure in history is quite simply his behavior. By all accounts, Buddha was a righteous person as well as Hindu saints. Did Mohammed really marry for his 4th wife, that little 9 year old girl, Aisha, playing with dolls and did he not raid the Qurayza and kill them? Jesus did none of these things. (Actually I do not have too much respect for the historical figure of Martin Luther either, an angry vicious person, who left a trail of death and destruction for decades after him.)

Most of Islamic scholars state that that movement happened with body but not just with soul or not a just moral journey. Isra(journey frrom Mecca to Jerusalem) is mentioned in Qur’an so that part is certain but there are not more details about Mi’raj in Qur’an. There are many details about Mi’raj in Hadiths. Also there are some verses about some parts of Mi’raj in sura of Najm:
  1. He was taught by one Mighty in Power,
  2. Endued with Wisdom: for he appeared (in stately form);
  3. While he was in the highest part of the horizon:
  4. Then he approached and came closer,
  5. And was at a distance of but two bow-lengths or (even) nearer;
  6. So did (Allah) convey the inspiration to His Servant- (conveyed) what He (meant) to convey.
  7. The (Prophet’s) (mind and) heart in no way falsified that which he saw.
  8. Will ye then dispute with him concerning what he saw?
  9. For indeed he saw him at a second descent,
  10. Near the Lote-tree of the uttermost boundary:
  11. Near it is the Garden of Abode.
  12. Behold, the Lote-tree was shrouded with what shrouds.
  13. (His) sight never swerved, nor did it go wrong!
  14. For truly did he see, of the Signs of his Lord, the Greatest!

That marriage with Aisha is not an obvious issue. There are a few hadiths about that issue and some people comment that hadiths that Aisha was 16 or 19. People searched and asked every conditions of prophet even in very specials circumstances. If there were such wrong thing with that many people would record that. There were many enemies of prophet!

The marriages of prophet Muhammed were about after He was 53 years old. When He got married with Hadja He was 25 and Hadja was about 40. Prophet could get mary with many women before 53 and that was an usual custom to mary many women in that community. So marriages of prophet Muhammed were not because of lust. Because prophet Muhammed did not such thing while He was powerful as biological!(respect of prophet not use some terms). And nobody could see any wrong act just like lie or adultery. Before he became prophet the adultery was not so disparaged but prophet never commit such thing. There are many reasons of marriages of prophet which would take long to state.

Prophet Muhammed was a human so if we just consider Him through His humanity we cannot find importance of what He did as a prophet. He got married, trade etc He just lived like others people. But also He did a perfect work as a prophet. And miracle of Mi’raj prove His high moral personality as a prophet!

With all due respect, the burden of proof is on a miracle actually happening rather than a miracle proving high morality. Historically, the Quraza were massacred. I am not saying that it is easy to prove the happenings of the Bible. The further one goes back are the lack of actual records. However, the purpose of the Bible is to be a moral guide, so one has to expect that its prophets were holy men. Maybe they didn’t start out that way but their lives were eventually testaments to what they were preaching.

Qurayza betrayed Muslims during Battle of the Trench but Qurayza had an arrangement with Muslims to stay in Medina so they impaired settlement. Qurayza supported Pagans. After war Muslims besieged Qurayza. Prophet asked Qurayza to be Muslim or to submit to. But Qurayza decided to fight. After a month Qurayza accepted to prophet adjudge about them. Prophet said them select any one to adjudge about them. Qurayza named Sa’ad ibn Mu’adh, one of Sahaba. Sa’ad adjudged to kill men. Here the reason of that:

10 ¶When thou comest nigh unto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it.
11 And it shall be, if it make thee answer of peace, and open unto thee, then it shall be, that all the people that is found therein shall be tributaries unto thee, and they shall serve thee.

12 And if it will make no peace with thee, but will make war against thee, then thou shalt besiege it:

13 And when the Lord thy God hath delivered it into thine hands, thou shalt smite every male thereof with the edge of the sword:

14 But the women, and the little ones, and the cattle, and all that is in the city, even all the spoil thereof, shalt thou take unto thyself; and thou shalt eat the spoil of thine enemies, which the Lord thy God hath given thee. Deuteronomy 20:10-14

Sa’ad had adjudged according to Old Testament.
 
Muhammed was fallible and error of a prophet is called as “Zilla”. But prophet never make mistake or teach wrong in religion. And prophet do not commit sin because God prevent prophet from such thing and protect prophet. The errors of prophet are in worldly issues as it is usual to any body should make.

Prophet Adam make a mistake and did not obey God’s order but He was not a charged and nominated as a prophet yet.
