The God I believe in vs the God I know

I believe in a God who hears prayers and answers them.
I know a God who says “Worship Me regardless of what happens, and if you do it right, I will let you into Heaven to worship Me for eternity.”

How do I reconcile this?

I know a God who was willing to come down from Heaven and live among us and suffer the way we do.

Even though we were jerks.

Oh, and then He opened Heaven for us, because we couldn’t possibly do it, and invites us to join Him in paradise forever.
