"The Good Wife"

Not since “LA LAW” or “JAG” have I seen a series based around a lawyer that has captivated me as “The Good Wife”( now showing on Tuesday mornings on the UK Channel Four) with Julianna Margulies as Chicago based attorney Alicia Florrick and her law firm.

The cases are SO topical, dealing with the “war on terror”, ( and subsidary issues such as the “drone war” in Afghanistan/Pakistan, counterfeiting- using digital currency- rather than forged greenbacks, libel tourism, the ongoing violence in Syria, “Islamophobia”) and thw whole ambience of Chicago( one complaint I have to make is that to date there has been no reference to the “Chicago Outfit” in particular far less organized crime in general- has the “Mob” ceased to exist in the Windy City?).

Although NOT a conventional beauty, Ms. Margulies has a sort of curious presence in her own right.

Anybody think as I do?

Yeah it’s one of my favorite shows. They don’t push much of a liberal agenda and I like that…I feel like I’m watching a show, not agitprop. The only thing I wish they would do away with, is Kalinda’s lesbo scenes…they can clearly do away with that.

I disagree. I think it promotes a very liberal agenda with the lesbian and gay (her brother) thing, the condescending attitude of Alicia towards her daughter’s interest in religion (“Are you still a Christian?”) the mention of the female boss’ support of a pro-abortion group (Emily’s List), the recent discovery that her mil is apparently getting it on with her male nurse as mil is the one doing an internet search on condoms, and that bi-sexual female detective apparently enjoys rough sex. And we have her Mom who is a totally aborbed selfish nitwit who feels no apprehension to discuss Alicia’s lack of an orgasm with Alicia’s former lover. And that was a situation that no woman with half a brain or morals would have allowed herself to be involved.

What Mom wouldn’t know if her daugher wasn’t still practicing her religion? Like, isn’t she leaving for some weekly service or working with some church group?

This isn’t I REMEMBER MAMA.
