What does it take to be a “Christian”?

We must act on Earth as we would in Heaven and this must be a constant train of thought when we are walking, breathing and in the presence of others. If we are not in a state of God Consciousness then we are in a state of Worldly Suffering. These are the only two states of mind which exist on Earth.

To be in a state of God Consciousness requires letting go of all ego, all self and all the trivialities of this world. Craving for status, wealth, power and sexual pleasure causes personal suffering.

Peace, Love and Humanity for ALL is the TRUE religion. This is the gospel of Jesus.
Ego, Selfish Pride and Indifference to others is the DEVIL’S religion. We are constantly exposed to Negativity. It is sickening to see others suffering and misery as a form of entertainment (such as Jerry Springer and other “reality” t.v. shows). The mind is being contaminated with this.

Jesus was not the first and only one to preach a gospel of Peace, Love and Humanity. Before him was Buddha and before Buddha there were the Brahmans of India and others. However, none of them claimed to be God or the Son of God.

Heaven is not for when we die and face God’s judgment. We are facing judgment now. God does not just observe you. He constantly sees what is in your heart and mind.
People are under the impression that all they need to do is to be seen in church or simply say the words “I believe Jesus is my Lord and Savior” and their ticket to Heaven will be guaranteed. Not so! These words and actions are nothing if you are not sincere! Again God knows your heart and mind.

Heaven is not an exclusive club for “Christians” only. Everyone who is devoted to a life of Peace, Love and Humanity is worthy. The thinking of mortal humans is that God loves only a certain brand of believers. To God every Human Being is valuable and needs to feel a sense of worth and a sense of belonging.

God does not have the mind of a mortal human. He is not primitive like us.
God cannot be understood. He can only be experienced. The Human mind is too primitive and limited to comprehend God’s infinite mind and power. God dreamed this World and Us into existence. Therefore, God is the only reality there is.

While it’s ultimately at God’s discretion for who gains eternity or not, it isn’t fair to say that all who strive to be good are automatically allowed entrance. Infinite ignorance only applies for those that don’t know Christ. An atheist who continually denies God but trys to live a good life has no certainty of salvation. We pray for the salvation of souls like these but none of us have guarantee, least of all them. Christ said the “only” way to the Father was through Him. That casts a large shadow on the everyone who does good in their life is automatically saved-notion. Being a humanitarian is an act of charity and a darn good one at that. We should ALL be humanitarians. But God calls us to more than just humanitarian duties. We are also called to praise and give thanks to the Lord and receive Him at the Eucharist. Besides what we as humans see as leading a good life, God might very well see as lacking. To think that someone is saved just because “we” perceive them as good, is pride at its best. We can’t possibly know the mind of God. This is why we must pray for ourselves as well as for others at all times, that we be shown God’s mercy.

Those who do deny God often seem most obsessed with good works, as if somehow they might be using works to make themselves feel better about rejecting God.

Kind of strangely opposite from those who try insisting that accepting Christ is enough and that works are unnecessary.

Without getting into the rest of it, what you said is true in that Heaven begins in this life, God loves and acts to save all of humanity and not just Christians, and also the necessity to die to oneself. I don’t think you will find much argument here regarding any of that.
