For anybody interested, **I will freely give you the timeline of the bible **straight from the bible starting with Genesis chapter 1 verse 1.

It is free because we are commanded to spread the word and preach the gospel. The gift of the Gospel and Jesus Christ is free. Christ made the biggest sacrifice for all, and it is a free gift to all, not to be charged, not for profit.

This material is something i have spent a year on and is 3/4 complete and is 11 pages on an excel sheet all very neatly labeled and thourouly explained in an understandable format.

The “Great Adventure” study system is not a time-line per se, at least not in the sense that you describe. What it is, is a Bible study system which traces God’s plan of Salvation throughout the Scriptures from Genesis through Revelation. Once the overview series is complete (our church is about 2/3 through) there are several companion studies which are linked to the overview, Matthew being one of those.

I’m starting Adventures in Matthew through my home parish. I was wondering if anyone knew of additional resources for learning more about the Jewish culture at that time. Jeff makes a point to explain how important it is to know the audience that Matthew was writing to so I would like to look into that a little more for my own benefit.

Any decent Introduction to the New Testament should have a section on life in the 1st century; various Jewish sects and parties (religious and political).

“Understanding the Scriptures” – one of the volumes of the “Didache” series, has an entire section on the New Testament world – and it is theologically sound.

I have done The Great Adventure last winter and thought it was awsome. And I just finished Adventures in Matthew and it was equaly awsome.
I tried reading the Bible in the past and it honestly dident make any sense to me and I just gave up on it. Then last winter my father lent this series to me. Since I began this series I have lernt so much and I just want to keep learning more and more about the Bible and Church History. I am going to get the Acts series soon and probably Epic the history of the Catholic Church.
I think anyone thinking about getting this series should do them selves a favor and get it as soon as you can.
