Ah, Liam Neeson, what have you done with your career? Taken, The Grey, Clash of the Titans, Wrath of the Titans, Battleship…what is a fine actor like you doing in such silly, silly movies?

YOU WERE ONCE MICHAEL COLLINS!
You forgot Unknown(which I actually liked) and the completely unnecessary Taken 2.

He also had a supporting role in The Mission.

Someone, somewhere suggested he was taking roles like these as a means of keeping busy after the death of his wife a few years ago.

But if an an actor like Laurence Olivier could do the original Clash of the Titans, I have no problem with Neeson doing the remake. 😃

Movies like The Grey aren’t usually my thing; I tend to avoid horror movies. I honestly didn’t expect it to be too horror-based. In fact, based on the trailer, I thought it was more a survival type thing, like I shouldn’t be alive * only fictional. So when I saw it I was appalled. The gore bothered me, but even more so all the blasphemies and denials of God (Especially by Liam Neeson close to the end). I tend to have OCD religion and have been fortunate enough not to repeat what he says. What do you think? Is it just a movie? Or have you been negatively affected by it? And are you usually affected by movies like this? For me seeing it on TV, in a song, etc. brings on scruples.

Ps. If you are prone to scruples and have not seen the movie, I highly recommend that you do not look up the scene to which I am referring. It might induce even more scruples.*

I am very sensitive to visual media. The only horror movies I watch have to be more on the suspenseful end. Its even worse with the love scenes. I can handle them when they’re short but why do some movies make them sooo long and nasty??

Anyway, I despise blasphemy in movies and shows. I remember when I saw the preview for that “Borgias” show and got all ticked. Even though that’s not really blasphemy but more glorification of corruption and sin. Which I don’t get. People complain that there used to be corruption in the Church and then they turn around and celebrate it…

Yeah, I know how you feel though. Some movies get me all scrupulous and I think: “Should I be watching this.” They purposely make them that way in my opinion. Our society’s morals have largely gone down the drain and the culture reflects that.

Have not seen it…here is an excellent…exceptional review --in my opinion-- by Father Barron of Word on Fire ministry and the Catholicism Project:

Fr. Barron comments on “The Grey” (SPOILERS)

FYI…here is Father’s review of the new craze…movie: Fr. Barron comments on “The Hunger Games” (SPOILERS)…its incredible…what a talented priest!
