The hardest thing about my last 20 years as a priest

I personally don’t have any greater sense of “reverence” from kneeling as I do standing or sitting, or playing.
I don’t either. If I kneel up straight for any length of time, it’s essentially physical mortification, which can be good in some scenarios (doing penance, meditating on Christ’s passion) but for something like Adoration or a meditative rosary, it just becomes a distraction after a while. If I kneel Japanese-style it’s pretty much same as sitting.

I will kneel in church for the Consecration, for prayer after Communion, when the tabernacle is open, when required at Benediction and during the first few minutes of Exposition, but I prefer to sit during most of my Adoration time and I don’t feel it’s irreverent to get into a comfortable position to talk to the Lord. I also don’t kneel much for prayers at home, I just say them from my usual spot on the couch.
