Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Today’s Gospel stirred my heart, and I hope it stirs many others, especially these verses:
Where are the “laborers” today? The harvest remains abundant for God calls all to holiness but where are the laborers needed to be there for the Master to send them out? This past Sunday, we heard also the sending out of 72 and that spoke to me as well. It is not just the 12 who were sent out, but Jesus sent out 72 and for me that says again, it is not just the priests and religious missionaries who need to labor for souls. The Church exists to evangelize! What are you and I doing? Are we asking the Lord to send out laborers? Are we willing to be the ones sent out? Are we in the vineyard, but not laboring???…At the sight of the crowds, His heart was moved with pity for them
because they were troubled and abandoned,
like sheep without a shepherd.
Then he said to his disciples,
“The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few;
so ask the master of the harvest
to send out laborers for His harvest." (Mt. 9 36-38)
