"The Heroic Offering"

Dear Friends, I am enquiring about the heroic offering Indulgence, as I have started to invoke it, at my attendances at Holy mass. Is it still valid? It was instituted by various Pope’s in the past. I want to attempt to gain the Plenary Indulgence promised by this, , when I receive Holy communion at my usual morning Mass, which is applicable to a specific Holy Soul of my choice, as, it is recorded in the book I have read, etc. Hoping you can enlighten, Yours etc Rex
 
Find either or both of the following books;
“Read Me Or Rue It”, which talks about the souls in Purgatory and gives an explanation of the Heroic Offering, or
“The Raccolta”, which is the book of Indulgences. I believe the Heroic Offering is mentioned in this book also.

Then you might look up letters by Pope Paul VI. He gave a letter regarding restriction of Indulgences. There was an article in the Latin Mass Magazine about this letter. I believe it was in April of 2005.
