i hope it is on the regular history channel and not history channel 2 which we don’t get.

i am glad i saw this thread because i forgot when it was on.

i am going to 5:30 Mass this evening so i hope i will be home in time to see it.
usually they reshow it again at a later time.

does anyone know how many nights it is on?

I assume every Sunday until it’s done. Also, even though I’m in the PST zone, it is still being broadcast at 8:00 pm.

Twelve minutes in and I like it already, this is going to be a great series. 😃

That is correct it is being shown through Easter Sunday… The episode on Easter Sunday will have the crucifixion and resurrection the Ascension Paul’s conversion and revelation.

I just have to say that this is going to be an awesome series. The commentary wasn’t expected, but I think it added some emphasis which was essential for those unfamiliar with the Bible. I knew you wouldn’t let me (us) down History Channel, good job! Seeing how the media responded to this series before it was released I knew they were doing something right. Anyone remember how they responded to The Passion when it came out in 2004? Anyway, what did you guys think of The Bible? Did you like it enough to tune in next week?

I did watch a few minutes of it. I saw a Catholics Come Home commercial and was glad they advertised. I also saw a commercial for a local Protestant church.

I don’t know if it was because I was tired, but I found it hard to get into. However, I may try again.

Thinking of probably watching this show now. Wonder how the Protestants will react when They show the scene of Jesus building his church on Mr Rock aka St. Peter!

Do you think they will show it that way, or in a more neutral way perhaps?

Let’s not relive the sixteenth century, Protestants are fellow Christians whether we like it or not. Personally, I like it! 🙂 As for your next question in the next post, I believe Downey and Burnett are Catholic so this may have some influence. At the very least they should mention Matthew chapter 16 in some context. Even if they don’t I am just glad that this has been done, especially with all the anti-Christian nonsense being shown on TV daily. I believe that this series is something that all Christians should enjoy and be glad about, no matter which interpretation it adopted. Considering the whining the media is consumed in over this, I am convinced that most media outlets don’t want Christians to have a voice in this country and Jesus can only be mentioned in a negative context. When this happens they all fall over themselves defending obviously offensive “works of art” like that SNL skit a few weeks ago. This series is something I would consider a victory, though a minor one and it is a victory for all of us, not just Catholics.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. I hope this doesn’t sound childish, but I was also impressed with the production values. Now that was a parting of the Red Sea!!!

I just watched it, and I thought it was REALLY great!! Can’t wait for next weeks episode! 🙂

Does anyone know how the story ends? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I’ll be here all week!

i also found it a little hard to get into. i was busy cleaning my room, but i thought it hurried through some of the well known stories at a pretty good clip. if someone is not very knowledgable if the Bible i am not sure they would have stayed with the show. the englsh accents bothered me a little.

i am hoping they might show the first episode once more during the week so that i can try to rewatch it and see if i liked it better.

i also saw the commercial for Catholics Come Home and i was pleased they had that on.

how many episodes are there? they will only be shown on sunday nights?

i wonder how the Jewish people feel about how the telling of the Hebrew Bible is going.

I notice that there is a program on Liftetime called the Bible. I think this is the same program but I am unsure it is on at 6 mountain time. I hope it is the same one. I couldn’t watch it last night.

Lifetime…LOL please tell me your joking! Did you get this from their internet website? In any case I haven’t heard of any such production, but I would be interested in watching it as I love these types of movies.

I watched it on Lifetime. It was the same as what was shown on History Channel. Strange indeed. I saw it on the menu. Like you I thought it was a mistake but no.
