His message is okay, there is nothing wrong with it.

But again, I have to ask, does he realize that the people who pay attention to his pronouncements are already dealing with this stuff all day every day?

Sometimes I long for an encouraging word. I already think about death, all day, every day. Mine, other peoples’, and total strangers. The Church constantly talks about death. The Seraphic Mass Association even puts constant ads for Masses for deceased loved ones in my social media feed, with pictures of cemeteries and such.
I’m not depressed - death is a fact of life - but I would like to hear about something else occasionally, something that doesn’t involve young people or families as I’m not young anymore and don’t have a family.

I wish the Pope would say something nice, something joyful. Something that would encourage people like me. Maybe that’s coming at Easter? Maybe it’s selfish for me to have this wish. IDK.

Check his Twitter. It’s so sweet and wholesome, I think I need to see a doctor after reading a few tweets.
 
It’s to be expected though, because Pope Francis said this last Sunday in reference to the day’s Gospel.

This Sunday is sure to be more cheerful. Parable of the Prodigal Son. Laetare Sunday. Rejoice!

We need a lot more homilies like this. Whether we die or live to see the Second Coming, there is no escaping Judgment. The Lord will come at an hour we do not expect, so we had better be prepared.
 
I love the message. Don’t take advantage of God’s mercy. Don’t put off making a life change for later, you gotta do it now. I think I take advantage someone’s so it’s good reminder.

Pope Francis is a legend!
