From the Parish Church of St Monica in Ostia - Holy Mass presided over by Pope Francis on the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ, followed by a Procession to the Parish of Our Lady of Bonaria, and concluding with the Eucharistic Blessing .

Last year I believe Pope Francis moved the traditional Thursday procession to Sunday because it would cause less problems for Rome (traffic, etc). This year he moved the celebration from Rome to Ostia. I don’t think there’s anything ‘going on’ and I’m not criticizing the Holy Father, questioning his decisions, or anything, or trying to be an armchair, “And what does this change mean for This Pope, This Papacy, The Church Today, The Church in Future, The Woman/Man in The Pew, etc”. I personally think the celebration is beautiful, I hope everyone who saw it prayed and was graced by God, and I hope that the Holy Father found great comfort and grace in celebrating it.

Yes, the outskirts.
The 'peripheries". Been there before, too. Again, just observing and not in any way criticizing the Holy Father, God bless Him.

I love that he takes his role as the literal Bishop of Rome seriously (with some constraints of course considering he responsibilities as pope). He visits and says mass throughout the area just like the other Bishops. ❤️

Thanks for sharing. I forgot to check EWTN to see if it would be televised.
