Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Like Mary our Mother and Model, St. Louis de Montfort and all the Saints learned from “Listening” by God’s Grace to the Holy Spirit with the ears of their hearts. Those of us who read the Mass Readings each day and those who pray the Liturgy of the Hours daily, are hopefully “Listening” to the Holy Spirit also through Holy Scripture. This Morning’s Mass Reading from 1 John 3 is a good warning to us in today’s confused world, to carefully discern the “spirit of the world” and today’s Gospel gives us Jesus’ reply to the Pharisees who trust in their own “opinions” rather than in God’s Word given to them in the Prophets who spoke God’s Word.

Today, as we continue our listening to St. Louis de Montfort’s words in his treatise on “True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin” we can rejoice in hearing God’s Wisdom telling us always the Truth we need to hear:
  1. The Holy Spirit speaking through the Fathers of the Church, also calls our Lady the Eastern Gate, through which the High Priest, Jesus Christ, enters and goes out into the world. Through this gate He entered the world the first time and through this same gate He will come the second time.
The Holy Spirit also calls her the Sanctuary of the Divinity, the Resting-Place of the Holy Spirit, the Throne of God, the City of God, the Altar of God, the Temple of God, the World of God. All these titles and expressions of praise are very real when related to the different wonders the Almighty worked in her and the graces which he bestowed on her. What wealth and what glory! What a joy and a privilege for us to enter and dwell in Mary, in whom almighty God has set up the throne of His supreme glory!
To enter and dwell in Mary, as St. Louis is unging us today is his response to the Holy Spirit. He has heard God’s truth and he has given himslef to Jesus through Mary totally. Have we?

Come Holy Spirit, work in us as you worked in Mary that we may become transformed as she is now in heaven: remaining in Him now in Glory as she remained in Him on earth – hidden like a treasure in the field – doing the Truth she heard.

By God’s Grace, may we seek and find Jesus always, as the Magi did, “with His Mother”.

Dear patricius, Sundiver and Stephie,

Thank you all for your “hearts”. It is always encouraging to find others who are “seeking” to find Jesus in deeper ways and “to find Him always with Mary, His Mother”. It is sad to me when some do not seem interested in the spiritual journey that leads to such everlasting happiness. Please let us continue to pray for one another, for the Universal Church and for those in most need of God’s Mercy, through Mary.
