The Holy Spirit and Jesus

If the Holy Spirit came upon Christ in the Jordan when he was being baptized, does that mean that the Holy Spirit was not always with him? I thought the Trinity Existed forever. Any thoughts?:confused:
 
The physical manifestation of the Holy Spirit (the dove) descended on Him from above. Just as the “voice from the clouds” was with them during the whole time.

I was taught that the voice from the clouds = God, Dove = Holy Spirit, Jesus = Jesus. Since all three were present at same time this helps represent the trinity.

Absolutely! I think this (and the Transfiguration) are the only times in the Gospels that the Trinity is manifested. That’s just my reckoning, though.
 
I still do not understand though why Jesus received the holy spirit when baptized if he already had it.:confused:

Jesus was anointed by the Holy Spirit, a physical sign that shows us what happens when we are baptized.

Remember, Jesus “and the Father are one” and are always together. Yet, Jesus still prayed to God. In the same way, Jesus and the Holy Spirit (and God the Father) are one and are always together. But sometimes, they perform signs to teach us.

The Holy Spirit was manifested at the baptism of the Lord (not a Christian baptism, remember) as the anointing sign for the beginning His public ministry.
