The Holy Trinity, Mary and us

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

As we prepare to celebrate Trinity Sunday, here is an excerpt from a blog entry I wrote some time ago:

…In the Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 260, we read:

“The ultimate end of the divine economy is the entry of God’s creatures into the perfect unity of the Blessed Trinity. (cf John 17:21-23). But even now we are called to be a dwelling for the Most Holy Trinity: “If a man loves me”, says the Lord, “he will keep my word, and my Father will love him and we will come to him and make our home with him.”

Too few Catholics, it seems to me, are aware of our call into the perfect unity of the Blessed Trinity. Too few have been taught or remember what the Catechism of the Catholic Church tells us in paragraph 265:

“By the grace of Baptism, “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” we are called to share in the life of the Blessed Trinity, here on earth in the obscurity of faith, and after death in eternal life.”

…When we behold our Mother Mary, we see how a simple human person can say, “Yes” to His Word, and truly be a “dwelling place for God”. Our Baptism was the beginning of our supernatural life. Though we were not immaculately conceived as Mary was, we were cleansed of sin and infused with Sanctifying Grace which is a participation in the very life of God the Trinity. God the Holy Spirit continues to sanctify us, as we listen — as Mary did, and do the Truth we hear…

This is again a very nice post, MariaChristi!! Thank you for it! I always try to remember the importance of unity with the Holy Trinity Who is God and to consecrate myself always as a son of the Father, a brother or Christ, and a temple of the Holy Spirit. In this way, we can live in peace and harmony with our Lord Jesus, witness to the mystery of His Resurrection, and display the fruits of the Holy Spirit, especially charity and joy.

Thanks for your reply. I hope you had time to read the entire the blog article HERE. As I mentioned in the blog, I don’t think the majority of Catholics have ever really heard or pondered what the Catechism says:

CCC - 260 -The ultimate end of the divine economy is the entry of God’s creatures into the perfect unity of the Blessed Trinity. (cf John 17:21-23). But even now we are called to be a dwelling for the Most Holy Trinity: “If a man loves me”, says the Lord, “he will keep my word, and my Father will love him and we will come to him and make our home with him"

I wonder how many ponder also:

**CCC 265 -**By the grace of Baptism, “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” we are called to share in the life of the Blessed Trinity, here on earth in the obscurity of faith, and after death in eternal life…

Our ultimate end, our final destination is our entry into the perfect unity of the Blessed Trinity! That is not what most people think of when they are asked “Where are you going?” Even if we add the words “Ultimate end or final destination” most Catholics or Christians don’t think much about the Trinity. Yet God is Trinity and He created us to know Him, love Him and serve Him in this world and to be happy with Him forever in the next.

May God help us to adore the Trinity within us, and earnestly seek to know love and serve Him, as we ought in this world. Please let us pray for one another, for the Church, Christ sent to continue His Mission. Mary, Mother of the Church, pray for us to help all God’s children home.
