The Holy Trinity?

Does anyone have a good site or article that would explain the Holy Trinity to a non Christian? I have tried till I am blue in the face to explain it and I an still not getting him to understand. thanks for any help and God Bless.

I would point out that the Trinity can only be explained up to a point. There is no way that you can explain It in the sense of giving a completely natural, rational justification of the doctrine, as you can for the existence of God. We only know of the Trinity because It has divinely revealed Itself to us.
 
I have found St. Gregory Naziazen’s writings on the Trinity to be very helpful 🙂
 
I don’t have a link but it was explained to me this way many years ago. The Father is not the Son or the Holy Ghost, the Son is not the Holy Ghost or the Father and the Holy Ghost is not the Father or the Son.

Yet all all three are God. Three separate persons, distinct and different from each other, three separate identities, each whole and complete, with different purposes, aims and goals, all sharing the Godhead in one divine nature, the nature of God.

Truly a marvelous and incomprehensible mystery of faith.

I would add only one technical correction: The three persons do not share the Godhead. Each Person possesses the one divine nature totally and completely.
God is in His nature one being and cannot be divided.

The three Persons are not three separate entities, just distinct persons. (In a similar way your personhood is not a separate being from your individual human nature: You are one being, not two, even though you are one person and also one nature.)
 
Like two other posters I would read Frank Sheeds book for an understandable explanation on the Trinity. They mentioned Theology for Beginners I would only add Theology and Sainity for a more complete expostition of the subject.

Another poster cautioned that we can only explain God to a point. I agree a finite person trying to understand an infinite person can only go so far, yet God choose to reveal Himself to us. I have often heard this statement by those who do a poor job in explaining the Trinity. (Not making an accusation to the poster) As a christian we should be able to explain two main truths well; the Trinity and the origin of the Bible. God’s love was shown to us by the cross, but even before that the fact that He wanted to be known as He is, The Triune Godhead.

Read John chapters 14 through 17. To be able to adequately explain the Trinity makes a difference. I recall personally the reaction of two Mormon missionaries after they heard a decent explanation. They said they had never heard it explained before.
