The horrible truth about euthenasia and organ donation/harvesting

I just scanned the posts and like to contribute a little. Allow me introduce myself: After graduating in EE, I was tutored by highly respected Specailists {Gen. Physiologist, Anesthesiologist, Neurosurgeon, Cardiovascular Physiologist, Endocrinologist, Specialists in Rehabilitation, and Electrical & Systems Engineers, etc.} I grew up as a member of the “Sodality of Mary”, and was tutored in the scriptures by a priest who trained with the Dominicans from the Jerusalem Biblical Institute.
Basically, I like to understand the central concepts of issues so that I do not have to remember too many things.
The way I understand it: the only comprehensive description of our situation is that WE ARE MADE TO BE GOD’s CHILDREN. That is why, from the moment of our conception, we have that dignity - EVEN WHEN we are comatose, or cannot think due to any reason. (e.g. before cerebral maturity. Sorry, Descartes’ fans)
The reality is that, properly supplied with nutrients (O2, etc.) the heart CAN beat, and other organs CAN be kept alive long after the head is cut (which would clearly cause death). That is why organ donation and transplants, AFTER the donor is dead, is laudable and should be encouraged. The PROBLEM is that in our SECULAR, UTILITARIAN culture, the RESPECT for Human Lives, which we hope our Physicians have, often is set aside for other “Important Consideration”, including the “Right to Live” of their ‘VIP Recipient’.
Therefore I fully concur with “Feanaro’s Wife”'s post regarding Organ Donations. Paramedicgirl’s posts were very informative!

None of the above changes my mind. I still believe in the gift of Organ Donation… the little red dot is in it’s place on my driver’s license. I have told everyone in my family. And I put it in writing…

When the doctor says I’m not coming back… take whatever will help someone else and let me go. That will be my final gift.

As I tell my daughters, let 'em take whatever they want. But bury me with my .45 and my bowie knife. I don’t know where I’m going, but I want both hands full when I get there.http://forums.catholic-questions.org/images/icons/icon12.gif

Hey, vern, you won’t be needing weapons in heaven… 🙂 Personally, I’d rather have a rosary in my hands.
It won’t be heaven without my .30-30 and some big bucks.

I really am not against organ donation. I can’t even give a pint of blood at the Red Cross, because I am a cancer survivor. So what good would any organs of mine be to anybody. I am 66, so I can assume that about anything I have is about worn out anyway.

We can still use your corneas. We have over 48,000 people in the U.S. allone who need a cornea transplant each year. And the tissue is recovered after a cardiac death so no quams there either,

Congrats on whoopin the cancer!

To all here. Please do not fail to forget the harvesting of aborted babies organs and body parts. It has been proven many of these babies are actually kept alive, transported in freezer trucks, and sent to science labs where there little hearts, brains etc can be experimented on, until they die. There is first hand reports from “nurses” who did these things in the labs.
God have mercy on our babies.
Those who participate in the murder and torture of unborn children are the ones who will need the mercy…

Organ harvesting is a business plain and simple. And a disgusting one at that. I told my husband under no circumstances am I to either donate and organ or recieve one UNLESS it is a LIVE organ donor situation where something such as a kidney, piece of a liver, or skin is donated.
