The Host fell on my blouse today

My main worry was that the Host would fall on the floor. If was freaked out by this … oi!

Well, just think:

If you were at Calvary at the foot of the Cross when they were taking the Body of the Lord down, and they dropped Him, would you not try to catch Him with your own hands?

There’s a video, I believe on Youtube where that very thing happens during a wedding mass, the host drops into the bride’s…um…cleavage and the priest starts to reach…in there…to get it and gets his hand slapped by the bride.

I don’t wear a blouse, but I do wear a shirt and tie that prevent an incident like this from happening to me.

Even without an indult it would have been alright. If you read some of the older Mass manuals, at the back in the section titled “Defects”/“Cautel”/etc. a.k.a. “101 scenarios and misfortunes that can happen to the Consecrated Species and ways of dealing with them” , specifically in cases like this where the host fell on the front of a blouse, or something, where it could not be retrieved by the priest for reasons of modesty, the layperson was to pick it up.
