I was wondering if someone could tell me the formal name to the service where for a couple hours the church will have the Body sitting on the Altar. I know it’s beautifully adorned, on display. I wanted to know the formal name if at all possible. And when coming in do you just genuflect like normal or are you supposed to get down on both knees? I want to attend the one my church I am coming into will be offering, but I forgot to ask my RCIA leaders these questions at my meeting.

It’s called ‘Adoration’.

You genuflect as usual. You will sometimes see people going down on both knees as they learned many years ago. Since 1973, that ‘double genuflection’ is no longer required.
 
Adoration.

The most respectful thing to do is kneel. Although if there are no kneelers, it’s fine to sit. Same if one had physical problems kneeling.

This would be the proper title, and the Blessed Sacrament is normally exposed in a golden monstrance. Benediction (actually a blessing with accompanying hymns and incense) can occur at the end of Exposition, or the Blessed Sacrament may simply be removed from the monstrance and replaced in the tabernacle.
 
When I’ve been to Adoration, we all knelt with both knees, and usually prayed a Rosary together. When my knees got sore, I would sit for a while. I could usually stay only for an hour (if that), then I would be mentally drained. So it was my Holy Hour.

Note: it’s not unusual (or sinful) to occaisionaly doze off during Adoration!

Formally: Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament
Informally: Adoration

Often, it begins and ends with the use of incense, but it doesn’t have to.
