Hello all…

I am recently signed up here at Catholic Answers. I have been studying apologetics for several years on and off. I need some help from my fellow Catholics. I have a cousin who is getting sucked in by the teaching of the Illuminati. I would like to help her very much. However I am having a hard time finding material that raises questions to their teaching. It is very hard to actually pin down what their teaching actually is because there are so many different groups.

If there is anyone who can suggest any well put together and organized web sites that I can gain knowledge to refute their teachings in light of Catholic Teaching…that would be great.

Is your cousin a Christian?

I ask because I believe Aleister Crowley created an Illuminati order and he was, of course, a renowned occultist. If she is a Christian, she should run away from anything related to that man.

I’m having a hard time finding out what their “teachings” are. I’m under the impression that the Illuminati is just a group that supposedly is running the world. How did she find teachings about this group? Unless she’s very powerful (considering the Illuminati does exist), she wouldn’t have access to this type of thing…and that raises some more concern: I doubt real Illuminatis would publish their beliefs on the internet for us “lay” people to find. So, she may be getting sucked in to something someone made up.

That’s a tough one. I’m sorry I can’t be of more help.

Yes, she is a Christan who practices in the Protestant tradition at the moment. She is however a baptized Catholic. So, my ultimate goal is to show her the messed up ed ness of the illuminati in light of Catholic Teaching so she will eventually come home to the fullness of the faith.

I know the illuminati are hard to pin down.

My cousin is basically a lay person like you and I, so I am trying to drill her for more information about where she is getting her information.

I would really appreciate it if you could share whatever information you find in the event that she does give up her sources of information. Like I said before, one has to question the availability of authentic Illuminati information. Whether the information she’s getting is valid or not, there are other people who are bound to find the same things she’s finding and that’s pretty dangerous.

…what rubbish. The “Illuminati” don’t “teach” anyone anything. And they CERTAINLY don’t let “the little people” in on what they are doing. In fact, they don’t exist.

…although, many individuals and small groups DO think of themselves as “the Illuminati”, and are lead around by demons in their activities.

This whole “New World Order” nonsense is yet another goofy satanic masquerade. More gnostic garbage.

It should be really interesting to dispute this “subject area” with her.

Rather like disputing the “Da Vinci Code”.

It’s either very easy or hopelessly impossible to “dispute” a complete fiction with someone who thinks it’s non-fiction.

The hardest part will be having my cousin draw her own conclusion from a well established line of questions. Please pray that I will be successful, maybe not right away, but perhaps over time.

Things with “the young’ens” are getting so bad these days as regards their views of reality.

It’s been noticed that there are many MANY young people who actually believe that dinosaurs exist (today!), that vampires exist, and that if they just learn to tremolo their voices well enough they can become the next Britney-like Bratt pop-star!
