I’m pretty sure no agreement will be reached there. For what it’s worth here are some events in history related to the nuclear bomb. Military actions or decisions supportive of the creation or use of a bomb are highlighted in red.

1898 - Pierre and Marie Curie discovered “radium” which raised the expectation that elements around us contain energy.

1933 - After Hitler (non Godwin reference here) was elected Chancellor of Germany things became unsafe for Jews. German citizen and Jew Leó Szilárd fled to London.

1934 - Leó Szilárd filed a patent for a neutron chain reaction device. The term “critical mass” is coined. Irène and Frédéric Joliot-Curie discover that stable elements bombarded with alpha particles became radioactive.

1938 - Otto Hahn and Fritz Strassmann note that barrium becomes present after a neutron bombardment experiment. Proces behind it is named fission.

1939 - Americans try to replicate the experiment of Otto Hahn and Fritz Strassmann. Identified the isotope U235 as being an active participant. Among physicist it is believed that it would be possible to make a bomb from this process, but no one knows how. Szilárd wrote a letter to Franky D. R. and got Einstein to sign it warning him of the threat of a nuclear capable Germany. Roosevelt sets up the S-1 Uranium Committee with $6000 of funding

1941 - Pearl Harbor incident. USA ups the funding of the committee.

1942 - Britain in cooperation with Canada starts a nuclear weapon development program named the Maud Committee (Military Application of Uranium Detonation)

Late 1940s - Fearful that Germany will try to seize Shinkolobwe Mine (which had the purest supply or uranium in the world) the director Edgar Sengier moved toe ore stockpile to Stanton Island.

1942 - After outpacing the USA in the development of the nuclear bomb it is finally decided that creating the bomb would require a lot more effort. Brittain joined forces with the USA. Manhattan project was born. The uranium ore was purchased.

1944 - Germans implement a solution that makes possible “explosives [of the] existing type be guided automatically in flying machines” named the Vergeltungswaffen 1 (aka V1 or Buzz Bomber)

1945 May - Surrender of Germany

1945 July - north of Alamogordo, New Mexico, BOOM!

1945 August - 広島市, 長崎市- BOOM!

I think it is partially personal and other part has to do with my training in my family and the last part is contribution of what I experienced and understand from life.
