We just bought ‘The Incredibles’ and it definitely our new favorite movie! We love the family values, and no dumb parents.

We’re really picky about tv. We don’t have any tv reception (cable or dish) on purpose. It just brings too much filth into the home. We were definitely pleased with ‘The Incredibles’

I think if there was a top 10 lines you would not expect to find in a movie these days, number one would likely be: “Mom and dad’s lives could be in danger, or worse, their marriage!” It’s a 180 from the mindset of most everything coming out of hollywood.

My fiance and I really enjoyed the movie. We saw it a few weeks ago at the cheap theater on 50 cent Tuesday.

First off, I’m picky about what my under 10 year olds watch.

Now for the movie. I thought it was great. Not only was it a well done movie and clever in many ways, it had wonderful messages as well. Mainly, there is an intact family on screen where the parents are in charge. Everyone in the family has a special talent, &, if you pay close attention, their talents are representative of traits for different genders & ages. All the family members use their talents for the benefit of the entire family. The family bickers and struggles with human weaknesses; however, they overcome these to become a better family.
Don’t forget to add that the parents really love each other in this film.

I LOVE that quote. It’s awesome. It shows how important a marriage is - ESPECIALLY to your children!! Other than a parent dying, divorce has got to be one of the most painful experience for children. It’s nice to see Hollywood grasp on to that, even for a moment in a film.

That and at the end “I am not strong enough” when big Strong Mr Incredible admits he’s not strong enough to bear it if something were to happen to his wife and kids. Very touching moment - and it was not even real people, but animated.

Quote from 10-year-old daughter (commenting on her mother’s enjoyment of the film) “I thought mommy would think it was stupid because she usually doesn’t like those kind of movies.”

We were loaned this film today. I’m really looking forward to seeing it now!

Is it just me or was anyone else bothered by the father deceiving the mother when he lost his job and started working as a superhero again? He essentially lied to her for 2 months before she discovered it and she didn’t find out about it from him. How long would he have kept this from her? From what I could tell, it was never his intention to be honest with her about what he was doing. I don’t think deception is a good family value. Otherwise, I thought the movie was good.

yeah, but he suffered the consequences of his deception, and learned from it.

As well, movies do need some kind of ‘conflict’ to overcome, and there was also a lesson learned.

I loved the film. It does have a lot of implied death for a cartoon, but seems like a good all-around family film. I thought one of its greatest strengths was its attempt at being a “genre” film, by which I mean that it tries to incorporate all the standard elements of superhero films without having to parody all of them. One of my favorite parts is, however, a parody feature in which the superheros speak of “getting caught monologue-ing.”

Incredibles is awesome.

These are all of Pixar’s movies:
  1. Toy Story
  2. A Bug’s Life
  3. Toy Story 2
  4. Monster’s Inc.
  5. Finding Nemo
  6. The Incredibles
Ice Age was made by 20th Century Fox. So was Robots.

Shrek, Shrek 2, and Shark Tale are all Dreamworks.

I think that covers all the films of this genre.

Pixar’s are by far the best.

What about Antz? Wasn’t that the first digital cartoon? Or was it after Toy Story?

Toy Story was the first Digital Animated Feature.

Antz came after, around the time of “A Bug’s Life” It is not Pixar either.
