I actually thought it was a good watch and quite interesting, even if it was a little strongly opinionated here and there - like a really good meaty forum post.

I am not sure how much people take such things as the official stance of the Catholic church - I am actually pretty sure people don’t.

I agree that the media do in fact acknowledge His sovereignty by their obsession with the church, whether they realise it or not, and I think people do know, deep down that the church is right which accounts for their need to ridicule her.

There were moments of truth in it too - certainly I’d rather that sort of thing, even if flawed, than the obsequious hand-wringing, flattery of sin and blasphemy against the Holy Spirit that we see from people doing “good PR” while calling themselves Catholic and/or Christian.

It is more honest and I think frankly closer to the truth.

Voris is neither the official or unofficial stance of the Catholic Church. He is a layman with a web site and a youtube channel. When his show was called “Real Catholic TV” it seemed like an official voice - which is why the Church told him to change the name.

I agree 🙂

But still, the media also focus on the Catholic Church just when it’s their job to do so. I expect that in two weeks time the Catholic Church will feature, or not, because of anything interesting that’s happening then.

I just wanted to share this Vortex episode from ChurchMilitant.TV!
youtube.com/watch?v=6rv_3EPCMs0
It goes into how the media likes to bash the Church as being “out of touch with reality” and “irrelevant” but then, whenever an issue in the Church comes up they immediately jump on it. So much for an ‘irrelevant’ Church. I thought I’d share it with everyone to watch, particularly during this time as the media is crowing and fawning over the delusion that our Holy Father Pope Francis is going to “change” the Church and all that other hogwash.
I do like The Vortex. It does a pretty good job but I noticed this was going on with the media already. It seems that every time the “liberal” media says something about the new Pope, it is always about how he is going to change the church and get it up to date. I even had non-Catholics notice that and question me about it. “So how is he going to change the Catholic church?”, they ask.

The point I think he made in the video is that people frequently say the Catholic church is irrelevant in out times but if it is, why do they keep talking about it? Meaning that it is relevant and people know it they just don’t want to admit it.

So…did anyone see the latest video about “Dolan-ism?”

youtube.com/watch?v=O9U-esned-c

Ouch.
That is a great video. It is so sad to see that Cardinal Timothy Dolan has once again failed in his duties. Without doubt this failure, like all of his other failures, was done with one of those big silly undignified belly rolling laughs.
I’m just a simple RCIA candidate, so I don’t think it’s my place to criticize a bishop or cardinal…but whatever Michael Voris’ attitude, is his stance correct? Are ardent abortion-supporting Catholics not supposed to receive Communion?
We must always respect Cardinal Dolan’s authority and his office. However, we as Catholic laymen have every right to criticize Cardinal Dolan’s open disrespect for the Holy Eucharist and his breaking of Cannon Law. We can also criticize Cardinal Dolan’s failure at leadership, which has left the Catholic Church in the United States at the mercy of every cultural wave. But let us not just criticize Cardinal Dolan’s actions, let us also pray for him to uphold his authority, fulfill his office and his duty, and take up his role of leadership. Let us pray and hope that history will one day record Cardinal Timothy Dolan as having lead the American Church back to the true teachings of Jesus Christ, may it also record the cardinal as the Catholic voice that shook this country to it’s core in the fights against the many evils currently confronting us.

You are saying that Mr. Voris sounds mentally ill merely because you strongly disagree with him. And I thought my political views were extreme! That is Stalinist talk. “How could he possibly oppose us so strongly? Insanity, perhaps?”

I happen to agree with most of Mr. Voris’s statements. Does that mean I also need to have my mental health assessed?

I sincerely hope you never run for public office.
Exactly. It’s amazing how common that “logic” is without people noticing it. Especially among people that claim intellectual superiority.

Apparently they don’t realize the Pope is Catholic. Very soon they will begin criticizing him for being Catholic.

Well, a .2 second google search will show you hundreds and hundreds of news stories on the guy in major, mainstream news outlets, including current articles in the last few days in so-called liberal biased publications like The Huffington Post, The New York Times, The LA Times, etc, etc, etc.
One emerging story proves the degree to which our “objective” media’s views on abortion are dogmatic and extreme. Abortionist Kermit Gosnell is on trial in Philadelphia, and not just for killing babies outside the womb, but also for killing a mother through reckless use of anesthesia. Network TV coverage of the trial? Zero on ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, NPR and PBS. CNN’s entire coverage seems to be one sentence from Jake Tapper on March 21.

The New York Times wrote one story before the trial began on March 19 (buried on page A17). The Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times and USA Today couldn’t be “national” newspapers and report this trial.
They’re not unaware of it. CBS aired one story after the initial clinic raid in 2011. NBC offered 50 words. CBS even passed along that Gosnell’s clinic was described as a “house of horrors.” Now it’s in court, and the networks can’t find any horrors.

Take the Associated Press report, which appeared on CBSNews.com: “The amount of drugs given to Karnamaya Mongar — at least as suggested by the nearly illegible clinic note — was likely to put her in a coma,” said Dr. Andrew Herlich, a medical school professor.

Mongar was a very sympathetic figure. A native of Bhutan, she weighed less than 100 pounds, spoke no English and had lived for decades in refugee camps in Nepal before coming to America four months before her death. But the storyline wasn’t lining up with the media’s feminist prejudices. Their “war on women” narrative didn’t include her.
I’ll give you a story that falls in line with the media’s narrative supporting the plight of women: On Nov. 14, 2012, NBC News aired a report from Ireland, where Indian immigrant Savita Halapanavar died of blood poisoning after seeking an abortion. NBC blamed the government because the woman and her husband “pleaded for an abortion but were refused, because the fetus still had a heartbeat. This is a Catholic country, they were told.”

NBC never returned to the story as hospital officials reported previous “terminations” to save the mother’s life and denied a “Catholic ethos.” To listen to this network is to conclude that abortionists don’t kill women. Catholics do.

You can also see the anti-Catholic animus determining which trials are newsworthy in Philadelphia. On May 23, 2012, the “CBS Evening News” began with the trial of Monsignor William Lynn, accused of covering up child sexual abuse in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Scott Pelley wasn’t shy about letting the prosecutor speak as she compared the Catholic Church with the Nazis at Nuremberg.

But when a pro-lifer uses Holocaust metaphors for an abortion clinic, he is condemned
He’s not alone. ABC, CBS and NBC piled up 96 stories on Todd Akin’s medically inept comments on rape and abortion and also wallowed in outrage over Richard Mourdock’s remarks on God’s will and a child conceived in rape. Their pro-life rhetoric was sold as a major scandal. It’s unbelievable that Dr. Gosnell’s trial for his actions inside his “house of horrors” haven’t drawn one network story
Perhaps you don’t know what you think you know.
