I own a copy of The Jesus Prayer by a Monk of the Eastern Church. I understand this unique tradition of the Jesus Prayer to be an authentic tradition that comes from Eastern Orthodox monasticism.

I’m not familiar with that particular book, but yes the Jesus Prayer is authentic spirituality. It is the way one can learn to pray without ceasing as the New Testament commands us. Some match the words of the prayer with the beats of their hearts and others match the words of the prayer to every breath they take.

You must have a Spiritual Father to direct you to avoid pitfalls or deception. There is a wonderful Monastery in AZ called St. Anthony’s where you can find a great Spiritual Father who has mastered the Prayer, if you don’t already have one.
