chosen people, the link at the end, does not work for me. Would please check to see if you have it right?
Mahalo!
for some reason it doesn’t work for me either, you’ll have to type it in by hand

Are you referring to the parts where I’m a poisonous snake, or the child of the devil, or a thief and a robber who kills and destroys?
And the OT prophets don’t echo that sentiment in many, many parts?

No, I was referring to the Gospels. I think especially John and Mark are beautiful writings.

That’s a rather different reading of the Gospels.

Unless you associate yourself with one of the “hypocritical” jewish leaders at the time of Christ’s death, how do you come to this conclusion?

Even if you don’t believe a word of it, a reading of the Gospels that attributes this attitude towards “the Jesws” to Christ and His desciples is a horribly biased reading at best.

Reading your post I was reminded of meeting a Christian girl who pointed out to me that Christian’s have nothing against the “Jews” just the “Pharisees”.

Over the past two millenium the problem hasn’t been with “horribly biased reading” of the Christian scriptures by Jews but by Christians.

Reading your post, it makes me almost forget that how much Pope Pius helped the Jews during WWII.

Luckily, we have the good things we can share with each other, instead of dwelling on the bad. Eh, chosen?

And reading your post reminds me of someone with a severe persecution complex and a distorted view or reality.

Good luck with that.

Shake the dust from your sandals and move on?
Yeah, there does come a time. But I’m hard-headed.

Still, I’d rather give someone the benefit of the doubt and think they are open to good-hearted honest dialog, then to take their (often mis-placed) anger and assume they are just close-minded bigots. I’ll gladly take the heat for that! 🙂

How about:

Mathew 18
Then Peter came and said to Him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, "I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.

or better yet:

Mathew 22
Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

Hmmm…there’s no sinning involved in what this discussion was about. We were talking about persistence.

And time that you waste on a loving but hopeless cause could be better applied to one with more potential. That’s when you shake your dust from your sandals and move on.

Did you read the whole thread?

I’m glad Jesus had more patience than some of you guys. He knocked on my door for roughly 40 years, before I truly let him in.

I’ll repost this:

We can easily disagree on this issue. It’s not dogma as far as I’m concerned. Although I’m retired now, I spent 30 years as a project manager and “doing wonderful things with as little resource as possible” is in my blood, and I can’t seem to get rid of it. 🙂

Luckily, Jesus can multi-task better than I can 😃
