Last night I couldn’t sleep and noticed there was a movie on with Gregory Peck and he played a priest. The movie is based on a book of the same name. I don’t know if it is fiction or biography, but the priest is sent to open a mission in a town in China. I learned Gregory Peck himself was raised Catholic. He was always one of my favorite actors and he was very good as the priest.
Anyhow, the movie had already started before I tuned in and the our antenna lost the signal after about an hour!!! I had passed the point where the rich man donated land for a new church and school and the 3 nuns arrived. Then some kind of civil unrest started and there were bombs and fires and people killed and injured. So I did not get to see the end.
Has anyone seen this movie? How does it end?
It seemed like a good Catholic movie to me.

There is another great movie starring Gregory Peck as a priest in the Vatican helping jews during WW 2…apparently based on fact…if you haven’t seen it…it’s a well worth watching…it’s called…THE SCARLET AND THE BLACK

I think that might have been on some time ago. I had not heard of it before and I wanted to watch it, but had to leave or something. I will watch for it! thanks for mentioning it.
