Does anyone have a website or email address or anything on where I might be able to get information on how I can join this Order? I’m a layman Catholic man.

I’ve only heard of Knights of Columbus 🙂 and Knights of St. John for modern men’s Catholic organizations.

Here is the website for St. John:

home.fuse.net/ksji/

KofC:

kofc.org/index.cfm

The St. John organization places a little more emphasis on military bearing, etc.

Here you go:
Order of Malta, American Association, USA (New York City)

[Order of Malta, Federal Association, USA](http://www.(name removed by moderator).org/) -formerly Southern Association (Washington)

Order of Malta, Western Association, USA (San Francisco)

full name, The Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and Malta

It’s not entirely clear where they divide up their jurisdiction geographically, but I’d guess in Maryland you’d be with the Federal Association.

From the first site:
How does one become a member of the Order?
One can become a member of the Order of Malta only by invitation. Only persons of undoubted Christian morality and practice, who have acquired merit with regard to the Sovereign Order, its institutions and its works are eligible for admission. The relevant Grand Priory or National Association is responsible for proposals of admission.
They do not say how one could get an invitation, but they do encourage people to take part in their efforts as volunteers. Presumably after they get to know you awhile in this way, a member might extend such an invitation.

And, updating my post, from the second site:
** ADMISSIONS CRITERIA** Applicants are to be Catholic lay men or women in good standing with the church.
·Applicants are to be at least 35 years old.
·The applicant should have achieved a degree of distinction in his or her professional field (business, law, medicine, academics, military, foreign service, government, philanthropy/charitable activities, etc.).
·The applicant should be regarded as a leader in his / her field and in the community.
·The applicant must have a record of service to the Catholic Church and to Catholic-related causes by lending professional expertise or “hands-on” volunteer service to the poor.

There is also the Knights of Peter Claver, although it appears they are not exclusively a men’s organization.

Dang only going to be 30 this June, oh well more time to prep! 🙂 Thanks!
