Have you heard of a progressive dinner?

You start with appetizers in one house, move to another house for soup or salad, to another house for the main course, and then to another house for dessert and coffee/tea.

I once visited a family in Pittsburgh who did that as a family tradition.

Let me guess. Soylent Yellow, Soylent Orange and Creamed Corn with Soylent Beige. The main entree looks like fried Soylent Bologna?

There’s one with gummy bears as the dessert. You take them out before microwaving it.

But I’ll confess I liked the Swanson dinners growing up. I liked the turkey one and the fried chicken one. We got the ones with the aluminum tray, warmed in the oven. It was a special treat, maybe a couple times a year.
