How can you call yourself a Catholic and a Lutheran? Is that not a contradiction? ** If you’re Catholic then be Catholic… ** If you’re a Lutheran then be Lutheran… If the Lutheran Church is Catholic then why do they name themselves Lutheran? Why not just call themselves Catholic? They need to either be Catholic or Lutheran. They can’t have it both ways…

1 Cor. 1
10 I urge you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree in what you say, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and in the same purpose.
(Prime example: Transubstantiation and Consubstantiation)

11 For it has been reported to me about you, my brothers, by Chloe’s people, that there are rivalries among you.

12 I mean that each of you is saying, “I belong to Paul,” or “I belong to Apollos,” or “I belong to Kephas,” or “I belong to Christ.” (Or, I belong to the Lutheran Church, ie Martin Luthers Church? Or do you NOT belong to the Lutheran Church?)

13 Is Christ divided? (Paraphrased)

We don’t even need to get to the Protestants to have disunity. Son-you might want to focus on a little humility in your answers.

I noticed you have a bunch of Churches in their that are Catholic in Name Only… Please don’t align me with these Heretical Catholic Churches because their is only One Holy Catholic Apostolic Church. There is only one body of Christ and only one Chair of Peter. Thanks.

The Reformers alway s considered themselves Catholic, and so do I, as part of the One HOly Catholic and Apostolic Church. Evangelical catholic is a term typically used by what one might call “high church” Lutherans.

That Lutherans do not teach consubstantiation aside, what we do agree on is the real presence. There seems more agreementthan disagreement here, but for sure, the metaphysical apporach is not our approach.

I belong to Christ’s Church, the one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. It is not Luther’s Church, though Luther was certainly a member. Whether we discern ourselves as Evangelical Catholic, Lutheran, Catholic of the Augsburg Confession, is just a name. What we preach is Christ crucified, as to you.

You belong to the Lutheran Church atleast be honest with yourself… If you are part of the Catholic Church it is only through baptism as the Catholic Church is the Body of Christ but by your choices you are a heretic and not in full communion with the Body of Christ therefore a partial member at best. At worst, spiritually excommunicated.

The Body of Christ and the Chair of Peter are inseparable… You obviously have a misconception of what the Church is. You are trying to convince yourself that you are in Full Unity with the Body of Christ which is dangerous and ridiculous.

He who receives you receives me…

Cyprian of Carthage

"The Lord says to Peter: ‘I say to you,’ he says, ‘that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of hell will not overcome it. And to you I will give the keys of the kingdom of heaven . . . ’ [Matt. 16:18–19]. On him [Peter] he builds the Church, and to him he gives the command to feed the sheep [John 21:17], and although he assigns a like power to all the apostles, yet he founded a single chair [cathedra], and he established by his own authority a source and an intrinsic reason for that unity. Indeed, the others were that also which Peter was , but a primacy is given to Peter, whereby it is made clear that there is but one Church and one chair. . . . If someone does not hold fast to this unity of Peter, can he imagine that he still holds the faith? If he [should] desert the chair of Peter upon whom the Church was built, can he still be confident that he is in the Church?" (The Unity of the Catholic Church 4; 1st edition [A.D. 251]).

thanks for your advice. I might mention that even the CC does not consider me a heretic, since I;ve never been in communion with the Bishop of Rome. and therefore, it is impossible for me to be excommunicated.

Thanks again, for telling me what I think. Please let me know when I do the same to you.
I have an absolutely solid understanding of the Church - the congregation of saints (believers) where the word is preached and the sacraments administered.
He who receives you receives me…
Amen.

I would have to assert while the Bible is the Word of God, it is still only an Image (Representation) of Gods revealed word. If a Bible gets destroyed Gods Word still remains. When the planet passes away Gods Word will still remain. In the beginning was the Word…
I can’t find any fault with this - we even translate the bible to make it more accessible. Where my church places a high value on the Bible, it is because not only is it God’s word, but it’s verifiably God’s word.
