Hi all,

I might have some facts wrong, but I seem to remember a prophecy dating back to the 19th century, and I believe it was St. John Bosco who had the prophecy, but it predicted who the last pope would be, not the name of the pope, but how many popes there would be dating from their time to the time of the last pope and I seem to recall that some were saying that Pope John Paul II would be the last pope.

Now I know that private revelation, even if endorsed by the Holy See, doesn’t have to be ascented to with faith, and I’m not claiming that Pope Benedict is an invalid pope, but I thought it was interesting.

Has anyone else heard about something like this? Please correct my facts, too. Or am I having a hallucination.

Peace to all.

I think you are referring to the St. Malachy prophecy. Around the election of the pope there was a bunch of threads on it. Let’s just say it gets mixed reviews:p . It basically says there is one more pope after Benedict XVI.

Now, John Bosco had a vision that I think applies today. It is about a pope guiding a ship in a storm as well as attacks from other ships and he anchors the ship between two pillars–the Blessed Virgin and the Eucharist. This reminds me a lot of JPII. Then he dies and another one takes up right where he left off and the attackers back off and the seas smooth. Could that refer to the time coming up for us? Who knows, but it is a nice thought.🙂

Hmmm. I don’t know. What have you been taking recently and what did the nice doctor say???

Seriously, I have never heard of any predictions from John Bosco about the number of popes. There’s a lot of loose information rolling around out there, often catching the gullible in the flash and excitement of that “gnostic” prediction. Best not to go there. Genesis315 got it right re: St.John Bosco’s vision of the ships. As to other prophecies, I think (and pray) that JP2 was the last pope of a “particular time”, an evil time- that maybe the church and it’s members are now on their way back to the true faith, stronger than ever.
