Here i go again. So was Jesus able to hold His body and blood at the Last Supper because He is God and because the laws of time and space don’t apply to Him?

Creating everyone and everything out of nothing is a far greater miracle than every other achievement…

Option 1:
Yes, Jesus held his own body and blood, shed in anticipation of his sacrifice on the cross

Option 2:
Jesus was celebrating in an instructional manner, his death on the cross not yet consummated the most holy Eucharist with saving grace

I do not believe there is a definitive answer.

One really cool thing about being God is that He can say and do all kinds of things that are to the human intellect illogical and paradoxical and have them all be true.

I still don’t know if it’s because the laws of space and time don’t apply to him but I saw in another, older thread, the bread and wine turned into the body and blood of Christ by His divine power.

When did the bread and wine become his body and blood?
To express the question in a more self effacing manner:
At what instant did it become his body and blood?

Your body, blood, and soul are present to you now. If you hold your earlobe then you are holding your body, blood, and soul. The bread and wine became the Body and Blood, soul, and divinity.

“Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall, so that they may become for us the Body + and Blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ.”

Modern Catholic Dictonary has for Transubstantiation: “After transubstantiation, the accidents of bread and wine do not inhere in any subject or substance whatever. Yet they are not make-believe; they are sustained in existence by divine power.”

But was Jesus able to hold His body and blood because Hes God and the laws of time and space don’t apply to Him?

Because divine power causes transubstantiation, not human power. Creatures are subject to God’s laws of nature.

But is it because the laws of space and time don’t apply to Him?

I would suggest that laws of space and time are irrelevant to God since they were created by God. From Moses and the burning bush that didn’t burn to manna from heaven; from the feeding of 5,000, to filling Peter’s nets; from the Virgin birth to the Crucifixion; from the Eucharist to the Resurrection. All of these events (and many, many more) show God accomplishing His goals independent of natural laws which tell us these things are impossible. And yet God does these things without adversely affecting creation i.e. space/time.

Then how did He eat His own body and drink His own blood? By His own divine power?

Jesus said “take this all of you and…” Jesus didn’t partake of the Eucharist as Jesus is the Eucharist.

Jesus didn’t eat the Eucharist.
Some people argue that He did, including a tract I can’t find now, on CAF.

So let me change my question. How did He hold himself in his hands! By his own divine power?
