Hello.

I just wondered if anyone else wishes the mass would revert back to Latin? This would make it universal and I don’t know why they changed it. 😉

There are Masses in Latin you can attend.

I’m less concerned with the language than the content, but I’m most at home in the Latin Mass, that’s for sure.

Maybe there is one near you?

I know what you mean, I attend Mass in latin as often as I can, occasionally this is the extraordinary form but generally its the ordinary form. Even in the the local setting its great, especially sung, however it really comes home to me at large international Masses, or say at a rosary procession at Lourdes, how strikingly unifying the Latin language is.

Et unam sanctam catholicam apostolicam ecclesiam…

20 miles away and I can’t drive!! 🙂

Only partially. I would prefer to see the ordinary parts of the Mass revert to Latin, but to keep the propers and readings in the vernacular.

If you live near me I would be happy to arrange transport. Alternatively, I know people in the LMS in different areas if you need transport. There are options if you would like them! PM me if you’d like.

God Bless you +

Yes ,I would like to see Latin Mass back again,I know it would be hard a frist for to to follow the Mass booklet, but it will come back to them after awhile. I am still learning how to follow it, but I am getting the hang of following it better.

I attend an Ordinary Form Mass every Sunday (if I were retired it could be every day!), where the propers and ordinary are chanted in Latin (and Greek… for the Kyrie), according to the Graduale Romanum.

Latin Mass after Eucharistic Adoration on Thursday and again every Sunday! I am one lucky Catholic guy!

Agreed! Have you ever been to St. Mary’s in D.C.? They have a great donut hour(s) after the Latin Mass where everybody gets to know each other. If you haven’t been you should come!

I went to a Latin Mass for the first time last January. Wow! The men dressed like, well like gentlemen. The women dressed like, well like ladies. No offense folks. Most of the ladies had veils on their head. I’ve been attending the ordinary mass for the last 9 years. Let’s face it, the ordinary mass is a come-as-you-are mass. At least that’s the way I see it. The Latin Mass I’ve attended was really something special. But it was at another parish some miles away. I wish more parishes would offer that choice.

I love the Latin Mass! I originally discovered the TLM 8 years ago, attending out of curiosity. I was never the same, I could never look at the Novus Ordo the same way again. Over time, I found myself visiting the Latin Mass more and more, until I could not deny God’s call to pray this Mass exclusively to protect and foster the faith of my children!

What amazes me is when fellow Catholics reject the TLM so quickly because they don’t know what to do or they feel intimidated by the parishioners. Hey I won’t deny the intimidation factor, but that’s because something heavenly is taking place here on earth.

Do I wish the Church would return to the TLM? I sure do, I know there would be fewer abuses, more vocations, and far fewer Catholics in name only.

I am 34 years old, all of the Catholics I knew growing up have fallen away from the faith. All OF THEM. Now that I have my own children it’s become so important that I recognize all that can be done to firmly establish the Faith in their hearts. I take the responsibility of raising my children up to honor God and the One True Faith to be paramount, there is no way today’s Novus Ordo Mass comes close to the Traditional Latin Mass in regards to safeguarding the Faith.

You say revert back to Latin. Do you mean the EF or the Traditional Latin Mass OR do you mean the OF (Ordinary Form) with Latin?

Big difference.

Gald to here that more people would like to see Latin Mass back again. It brings me closer to Jesus, and Ilike receiveing it on my tonge.
