And I think it will take a while to gauge a real level of interest. Those who might show no interest may never have been to a TLM, or are making a quite hasty judgment. Let them attend a TLM with Gregorian chant for a bit (or at least have an opportunity) and then maybe we can see where the interest lies.
Exactly. The Church has been without the Tridentine Mass for 40 years. My whole generation, in the main, has had no experience of the Tridentine Mass.
Things move slowly in the Church. We will not see a sudden dramatic increase in the number of people who attend the Tridentine Mass. However, I believe that this Mass will grow in popularity as time goes by.
In order for this to happen we need to get the word out. We need to promote this Mass and educate people, especially the young ones. This is what I intend to do. I want to do all that I can to spread devotion to the Tridentine Mass and I pray for the day when there will be a Tridentine Mass celebrated in most parishes in the world.
I love the Mass of Paul VI and I want this Mass to be celebrated reverently and be well attended but I want more people to attend the Tridentine Mass so that we can preserve it for the future.
There are more and more men joining traditional seminaries. The number of Priests who are able to celebrate the Tridentine Mass will grow in the future.
Personally, I think there is a change of attitude within the Church already. Take this as an example, my Church has just reinstalled stained glass windows that were removed after Vatican II; they were hidden away in a dusty cellar for 40 years. We blessed these ancient stained glass windows today before the Mass. It was brilliant and lovely to see them restored to their rightful place.
We truly have a great Pope and I pray that his papacy be long and fruitful.
