As I was watching television, I saw an advertisement about a new motion picture about the Blessed Mother Teresa! The name of the movie is The Letters and is going to be playing in theaters December 4th.

Does anyone plan on seeing it? I figured it might be a nice counterweight to the recent “Spotlight” movie that just came out.

are these the letters she wrote that spoke about her despair and the dark nights she experienced? who plays Mother Theresa?

I came across two negative reviews for The Letters – not so much because the movie was bad, but because the reviewers were anti Mother Teresa and accused the film of being propaganda to advance her cause for canonization.

I will now being seeing this opening weekend:D
 
So, this was apparently released nationwide, and it also stars Rutger Hauer and Max Von Sydow (yes, that Max Von Sydow - from “The Exorcist” and Bergman’s “The Seventh Seal”). However, I have to wonder how, especially during the holiday season, this was nearly dumped into theaters with very little publicity…?

This wasn’t a wide release(800+ theatres) so they probably didn’t publicize the film that much.

Surprisingly the neighbor chain booked the film – of course it will probably be gone next week to make room for Star Wars.
 
OK, my wife and myself finally watch the movie The Letters, as it is on Netflix.

The bottom line is, it’s excellent ! 👍 👍
