also, 9 out of 10 people murdered in Auschwitz were jews. If you were to put a Magan David for each jew murdered there, there would be no room to walk.
I do not know the statistics of Auschwitz. But of all the death camps, the Jews made up just over 50% of all who perished.

Thank you valke2 for correcting my message. I kept thinking there was more to it but my memory. . .again, thank you.

why is it that Jewish households don’t even allow their children to read The New Testament?
Why would they? Jews do not accept Christ. They hold sacred their Hebrew Canon [both of them]. Why would they accept somthing which they cannot prove as authentic?

They would no more teach their children the New Testament than we would teach our children the Qu-ran

But my understanding is that E. Stein acquiered her sainthood through martydom. Acknowleding that she’s in heaven is fine. I’m just pointing out the argument that some Jewish groups made.
I’m just trying to explain the idea of canonization to you as a non-Catholic. I think most non-Catholics look at the process of canonization as the Church making a person a saint. That is not accurate. Canonization is just an official recognition that someone is a saint. When someone in the Church “opens a cause” for a holy Catholic who has died, then an investigation is undertaken to determine if they died as a martyr or if miracles have happened through their intercession. It’s an interesting process.

Anyway, the way Catholics see it, Edith Stein’s death was a witness to the Church and her faith despite having been chosen by the Nazis for death because of her Jewish ethnicity.

IN Auschwitz, which is were the “Cross Controversey” took place, 90% of those murdered were Jews.

Auschwitz was a death camp as opposed to a concentration camp. You were shipped there to be killed, not exploited for your labor and then killed.
