Does anyone have a scapular and pray the LOTBVM? Or do you just pray five decades of the rosary?
 
I wear the scapular, say the (traditional) Little office of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and say the 15 decades since I am apart of the Rosary Confraternity (requirement for at least weekly, but daily is ok too)
 
Actually, the practice of the praying of the LOBVM or 5 decades of the Rosary are very out-of-date, no longer binding requirements.

Here is the definitive catechesis on the Brown Scapular, written by the O Carm and the OCD in 2000 for the 750th anniversary of the Brown Scapular. It’s the official stance of the Carmelite Order.

I wear the Carmelite scapular and pray the Liturgy of the Hours, as requested by the current Carmelite scapular catechesis.
 
There seems to be a lot of outdated information on the internet RE: the Brown Scapular.

The information provided by asia53 is the approved current rite and discipline for the Brown Scapular.
 
I wear it.

I asked my priest if I could pray the Rosary instead of the Little Office and he said yes.
 
What about the Little Office of the Immaculate Conception? Is it the same thing as the LOTBVM?
 
Glad I found this thread and others on the subject.

I have a copy of the Little Office. I’m going to try and read the hours as much as I can. I fear though that it will get stale as time goes on b/c it is the same psalms every day unlike the divine office.

I did have a specific question however…The closing prayer for the difference hours ends with “Who livest and reignest,&c.”

What comes after reignest?

Since the line before that refers to Christ, it should be, “who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, world without end. Amen.” My edition has that spelled out the first time it appears in the book, and then “etc.” after that, but yours may look different.
 
I ordered a copy of A Book of Marian Prayers. It has a The Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary. I still prefer praying the Divine Office.
The Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary is shorter than the Liturgy of the Hours. Whether praying the LOTH or the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary, you will find Canticle of Zachariah in the Morning Prayer, and the Magnificat in the Evening Prayer. It doesn’t make sense to me to switch to the shorter Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

After reading St. Louis de Montfort’s True Devotion, I had already added “The Little Crown of the Blessed Virgin Mary” to my morning prayer routine.

A Book of Marian Prayers does have other beautiful devotions. I like how it adds scriptural “clauses” to the Hail Mary. These are added after the name of Jesus, another way of praying a Scriptural rosary. I had already been added a single word or phrase (clauses) when praying the rosary to help with meditation.
