Talking at an OSAS believer:

644 you would have to wonder if they’re even Christian. I am not sure where they get their notions. Easter, if you noticed, seems to be justifying sin, since her contention is that we cannot prevent sin from happening. I find this tragic of OSAS. Their reasoning is that since we cannot prevent sin, then we must also confess sins not yet done, so that when we commit it we are already forgiven. The notion of repentance is automatically thrown out the window. The contentious thing about OSAS makes it very hard to defend: firat, why confess sins not yet committed? Second, the fact that they confess sins not yet
committed means they plan, or at least anticipate, that they will sin, rather than prevent themselves from sinning. Third, there is no effort at living a holy life, as I can gather from my discussion with easter. It seems like her justification for not living it is because we sin anyway, and since we’re forgiven, then we should not fear sin. A distortion of Jesus’ teachings at the highest level, and that’s why I said that OSAS is a diabolical notion that Satan has cleverly invented–holy life is thrown away, replaced with the lie of Jesus’ forgiving even future sins not yet committed, so we may freely commit them without fear. Satan’s perfect plan.
Just to add on what I posted there: now, forgive me for the tone of my post, but I really couldn’t help but think what a great deception OSAS is. I have not bothered replying to easter or froddobaggins in Pinoy Exchange, as I feel it has become a waste of time, and I have already made perfectly clear my point. We’re just going in circles there. What I find sad, though, is that I sense they don’t see any point in living a holy life, since we’re sinners. Even more tragic, they justify this sinful life by saying they’ve confessed sins they’ve yet to commit, so they’re free of guilt when they commit it! That’s the gist of what I get from them.
