Request delay is my term, not the Church’s. So any fault is mine, the point is it’s not a refusal. As to debt, blame St Paul, that is the most accurate translation if his words from what I have been told.
Never the less, the language the Church uses is quite clear, and despite it being repeatedly over and over again, people don’t agree with it. They misrepresent it. They argue it says something that is clearly not said. I think people are simply have a warped idea of what it means to be married, to give oneself freely to one’s spouse. And I also think it is at times due to a puritanical anti-sex strain that exists in far too many if us.
