I do not in any way want to sound disrespectfull, or mock the greatest sacrifice that has ever occured, i love my Lord dearly. I am a Catholic, i believe Christ died for my sins. It’s just i don’t seem to be able to understand the true meaning of the cruxifiction. Could someone explain the true meaning of Christs cruxifiction to me, i have read St. Pauls letters and i have picked this up.
1.) He redeemed us form the curse of the law that cannot save us:
for ‘cursed is every man who hangs on a tree’ by doing this he bore the curses for us. (this i don’t understand)
2.)He was a sacrifice for our sins ‘the lamb of god’ - does this have parralels with the passover where the jews firstborn were pardoned form death by the lambs blood on the door?
3.)He entitled to abrahams blessing and the promise of the Holy spirit which brings salvation. Is this the new covenant?
4.) If we are baptised with him, we die with him and shall also rise with him, if we do not forsake him.
Does anyone know the CCC that explains this.
Thankyou,
Pete
