The message of the Gospel/ for Christains and Non

YOu are correct that Christ commissioned us to spread the word and we must continue to do so. We must also fight for the right to do. That said, we should follow Chirst example in doing so. form the Gospels I have never heard or read that he begged anyone to listen to him. nor did he chase after them if they walked way from what he had to say. He had his say and let the listener decide for themself what to do with what they had just heard.

Correct. He never begged anyone to believe Him. neither did He try to waterdown the Truth. He kept speaking the Truth to the end. now and days, people talk to much and the Truth gets lost in the middle. we have become afraid of attacks or offend someone by speaking the Truth, so the Truth becomes unimportant, all the matters is that we have peace and get along. this is the love that many is trying to preach today. if the message of Jesus was for peace among man, He wouldnt have died for the Truth but it would have been better for him to just get along with everybody. but we know that Truth will draw persecution. persecution is just what we dont want anymore. the mission of the CC is to preach the Truth plain and simple. when was the last time you heard in your parish prayers for the conversion of others into the CC Faith? i know i never heard. what i hear from my Parish is that it is ok wherever you are, they even encourage the people to go to protestants services. relativism is within the Church pure and simple. they are encouraged to adopt things from protestantism. very sad. if you have the Truth like you claim you do, while are you trying to bring things that are not true into the Church? it doesnt make any sense.

I am so sorry to heard that you have a parish that is not praying for other converions. and encourages attendance at protestant services. I am fortunate in that I have a every devote Priest. We pray for conversions every day. Yes that ugliness of relativism has made its way into most all of society.
I do not mean to come across as promoting a one big group hug, I’m ok your ok thing. I am saying that I can spread the Gospel and not beat people over the head. I can disagree with my brother christians( protestants) and show them love. I can know in my heart of hearts that the Atheist is so wrong the only hope is to turn them complete around, but I can not make them believe or even listen to me.

I guess my whole point was to ask the why must we try and shout each other down? Why must we try to shut each other up? I have such faith in God that I do not care what is brought forth in the public arena as along as The gosple is given it time as well. Truth will win out?

In other words is the Atheist stance so weak that it can not stand next to others. we should not shout down anybody and neither be nasty when speaking the Truth. we can speak the Truth of Jesus without labelling or calling anybody stupid. i dont like particularly labeling people of any kind. some like to correct others when they speak the Truth labeling them holier than thou, or something like, we are not being nice, or something like that. and what makes even worse is when Catholics come against Catholics in this site. what kind of witness are they being given here. there are times in which we are discussing the Faith among ourselves and that is fine to have arguments about it but also to hear the other and try to understand one another instead coming against one another with angry posts or sarcasm. i dont answer to angry posts direct at me or sarcastic post. i just let i go.

I think that Christians are bound to care for those who do not share their faith, and to treat them justly and with particular kindness when they are in misfortune.
We can give a basic gospel message to them if they’ll hear it.
But there are many people in other faiths who regard Christianity as profane, as worldly, and unworthy of consideration.
In the case of these, just love and treat them gently. You can’t do much else.
We are responsible to the person who reaches out to us, and to Christ.
We are not responsible where a person denies Christ outright.
