Is the bible translation The Message approved by the Church?

If it doesn’t have the Old Testament books of Tobit, 1 Maccabees, 2 Maccabees, etc., then I would say no.

don’t use the message, it’s a paraphrased version of the bible with a protestant slant as I have heard.

Not only is the translation not approved, but it is ridiculous, and possibly bordering on blasphemy.

If all bibles in the world were burned but The Message, I would probably read it. However, it would be a better idea to burn all copies of The Message. The only bible that is worse is the New World Bible, used by JW’s.
