Then I think it is only proper not to merely tell much less than half of the story, but to put that information in context.
Actually I did put it in context, which is also what I did when I taught a three-week unit on the Holocaust that included other acts of genocide. It’s important as Catholics to admit fault where there clearly was fault versus denying it, and the Church has done a good job, imo, in doing just that.
A “good job” denying or admitting the fault? Your context is unclear.

Are you claiming that every Catholic or the Church itself is guilty of whatever faults or crimes are committed by individual Catholics?

Is that the “context” you are attempting to frame?

The fact that some or even many nominal Catholics hold or support a position does not mean the Church does.

Would someone in the future be correct in claiming that because “many Catholics” were complicit in promoting the “rights” of women to have abortions during the late 20th and early 21st centuries, that fact, by itself, implies that the Church was guilty of a moral failure?
The issue is as I stated, namely that many in the Church did comply with the NAZI’s, thus we have had several popes now who have apologized for that complicity. At no point did I suggest that all or most in the Church complied with the NAZI’s. I think these Popes have done an honorable thing with their apologies, but it appears that you don’t.

Secondly, I never refuted the Church’s teaching against abortion but merely explained where some like Kaine and Pelosi are coming from on this, and it is not what you said on post #37 whereas you claimed they “are promoting abortion”. That simply is not true.

Frankly, all I think you’re doing here is taking an innocent statement of fact, with my opinion thrown in at the end, and trying to turn it into something evil. I have no desire to play that game.

No, I think you are conceding far too much, and thereby confusing the issue and the reality.

For those who say there is no promisse of a Messiah in the OT, particularly in the old Law, I have only one thing to say: it starts with Genesis I, 14-15.
